50 years Japan marked a major milestone in history. The October 1, 1964 was launched the first bullet train, a vehicle that crossed the line 'Tokaido shinkansen' between Tokyo and Osaka reaching a speed of 200 kilometers per hour. Maybe the call Shinkasen, as he is known on this bandwagon in Japanese land is no longer the fastest in its class (now that title is held by the Chinese electric motor CRH380A ), but that does not mean that the vehicle has been removed: currently still operational and is responsible for transporting more than 300 million people a year. It has earned today we dedicate a moment to celebrate his birthday, do not you think?
Happy 50, Shinkasen.
