London to host Malaysia Week

3 Oct 2012

An event getting underway in London this weekend will showcase some of the experiences on offer to travellers visiting Malaysia.

Some 200 guests and VIPs will attend an inaugural party on 6 October, before Malaysia Week opens to the public on the following day.

The programme will feature a range of arts and culture performances, including traditional dances depicting the Malay, Chinese, Indian, ethnic Sabah and Sarawak cultures.

Music lovers can hear renditions of contemporary Malaysian songs and enjoy concerts by a traditional orchestra.

There will also be opportunities to sample a range of foods, play games and see displays of craft items and pieces of art from the Asian country.

Malaysia Week will be based along London's South Bank and will run until 10 October 2012.

People interested in visiting the nation can catch flights to Kuala Lumpur, which is home to some 1.6m people and boasts famous sights such as the Petronas Twin Towers.
